This one really wasn’t that bad, just had to get everything dialed in, which only took a few test shots, I’d have hated to try and do this on film. So what shots have made you think? EDIT: Oops, meant to post to Photography, oh wells.

Welding without gloves, I guess if you’re not getting MIG splatter all over you’re sorta okay, but still stuff gets hot.

High School football on a Friday night in a very poorly lit stadium about a decade ago. I grew up shooting racing/sports, but back then, I was shooting with a Canon 1D with either a L-series 70-200 f/2.8 IS or an L-series 100-400 f/3.5-5.8 IS. There wasn’t enough light in the joint to get anything further than ~35’ away, even with a Speedlite 550EX. I tend to shoot at slower shutter speeds than professionals, so panning with the action is natural, but shooting live sporting events at 1/200th or slower with a max ISO of 1600 (and a lot of noise at that level) was miserable.

Yeah, it threw me for a loop too, wouldn't the filler rod get pretty warm?

Man I wish I could afford an L tele like one of those. The reason why I bought my 7D was specifically for its abilities when it comes to action shots and low light, lots of nighttime motorsports events around here.

Not sure, I’ve only tried TIG once or twice (and am terrible at it...) and wore gloves.
